Search and Recovery

The PADI Search & Recovery Specialty course is for you.
Learn some simple yet effective search techniques to use underwater, whether you’re on a flat sandy bottom or in rugged underwater terrain.
Search & recover objects that have been previously lost and use lift bags in a safe and controlled manner.
Combine these skills with the Navigation Specialty course to gain the maximum advantage.

How is the Course Run?

This course involves some pre-study reading followed by 3 shore dives.
On the first day you will be shown how to conduct search patterns underwater. This is where you will learn the basics of Search & Recovery.
On the second day, you will find each dive progresses from the last.
As you acquire new techniques, you will build on each skill to the point that you are comfortable with the logistics of organizing, searching for and recovering various objects using catch bags and lift bags.

Pre-requisites · PADI Advanced Water Diver or equivalent · Be 15 years of age or older
